The Sunday Creative Prompt. "OPEN"

IMG_8062BS

I prefer to be in the open, outdoors. No matter the weather. If I absolutely have to be indoors, then I love to have the doors and windows open. No matter the weather. To see the elements come billowing in, making the drapes dance in a spotlight of sunshine is, for me, a tangible link to the open air, and the place I'm happiest. A bit like having the outside, inside with me ;o)

The Process
What a great find. thank you Sarah, for pointing me in this direction. I was fired by the idea right from the first reading
It took me about ten minutes to figure out which definition of the word "OPEN" has most significance for me.
The first thought was quickly abandoned thru lack of ability to express myself. I couldn't work out how to convey emotional openness ......... how very telling is that! At another time, in another place I shall return to that thought.
My second reaction to the word was, predictably, open spaces....the great outdoors. Which is where I am happiest, and luckily, most of the time. So it should be a landscape, open country, but that didn't seem quite comfy.... perhaps because the challenge would involve much sitting indoors in front of Pooter. Here happened the Blinding Flash of the Obvious ......... the link between the two. That was the subject sorted, now all I had to do was get the right picture, which, obviously wasn't going to be a hardship. The weather thwarted me somewhat, not often being what I wanted, when I had time to capture the moment. I got one chance the day I read of the Project, and another, the day the project ended! But I got enough to work with. I have difficulty sometimes choosing the final pic. Then I have difficulty choosing the final edit! These were a real problem this time because I'd tried new tricks in taking the pics. I'd used flash for the first time, which meant that I had a choice of either the end product being dark or light. I don't often do light, so it was tempting to go with something different.....but I stayed inside my comfy zone.
So with half an hour to go to the end of the Project I had my selection ready. And no idea how to enter it !! I still haven't a clue how to get my pic on that page, but I've got another week to figure it out and complete the next project! LOL I can't resist posting my lighter version ....I learned so much taking and editing this!

A golden moment

Golden moment

It feels sort of appropriate to make the first post a pic taken first thing in the morning.

There was a lovely mist over the heath this morning. Thats the best time to take some snaps, as the several dozen pylons can fairly easily be hidden. I used to clone them out, but 40 in each shot got very tedious!
